Sure, there are people who actually enjoy sticking with their boring old PCs. But as a large number of Americans have recently discovered, it's just better with a Mac. Having a laptop that is intuitive and that makes it possible to enjoy a stylish design with better processing just means being happier when surfing the web or working on projects, and for those who are increasingly dependent upon Macs to get work done, there just isn't a different laptop out there that handles video editing or graphic design quite as well. And it's not just the professionals who happily sit down at their apple laptop keyboard and type away from morning until night; plenty of college kids are also begging for a shiny silver machine come their birthdays or the holidays, since lots of others in the dorms already have them. It's equal parts functional and a status symbol, but there's something to be said for Macs particularly based on their shelf life.
Unlike other machines that tend to stop working quickly or end up costing more to repair than it would to upgrade to something else, Macs tend to manage to keep on trucking. A Powerbook model from five years ago might need a new apple laptop keyboard after three or four years, but most of the time, the hard drives are still in great shape and everything tends to work well. And with newer machines, those who are making their purchases can also opt to get an extended warranty, which provides phone support and plenty of other different resources to ensure that things are running smoothly and working well. And when there are problems with an Apple computer, like an apple laptop keyboard suddenly not having backlighting work as well or it being difficult to see where one is typing in low light, then changes are made quickly. For the MacBook Pro models, which replaced the Powerbook, the idea of having an apple laptop keyboard where the keys themselves were fitted into a silver piece of metal and then backlit meant a cleaner keyboard, an easier time typing, and the chance to see in the dark!
But that doesn't mean that those who are happy Apple owners shouldn't be learning more about how to take care of their products. For one thing, it's crucial to be gentle with screens, both on new and old models. Consider putting down a cloth between the keyboard and the screen, so that there are not permanent key indentations in the screen itself. Likewise, on older models where the power cord is not magnetic, take great care to not accidentally rip out the source of energy, which can sometimes damage the body of the computer. And being careful with where one places a laptop, whether it's not leaving an apple laptop keyboard next to an infant holding liquids or not piling a bunch of junk on top of the computer, also means that it will tend to enjoy a far happier life.
