Dell Latitude Z Review by Nikiecsem
When you want to buy a laptop good for business is generally limited to industrial projects that are robust and durable but not very elegant. Usually the only viable option is the Apple MacBook Pro until recently. Dell hopes to change that with the new Latitude Z ... a super thin, high-quality 16-inch laptop aimed directly at business.
Construction and Design
Long ago I opened the box containing a new laptop which I had to take a step back and say, "Wow." The Latitude Z is the kind of effect on you as soon as you step out of the box. The quality of everything from packaging materials, the same is a step above anything else I've seen. The next thing you realize how big is the footprint of the laptop is compared to the thickness of the coating. Thin and light notebooks are based on the 13.3 "form factor, while the Dell Latitude Z is 16." The Z is so tight for a laptop of this size highlighting, even compared to a MacBook Pro.
The eyes are not surprising. Dell has given the Z a perfect blend of sleek side panels and rubber metal surfaces clean. It's almost like Apple and Lenovo have teamed up to make a high quality laptop business. The display cover has an elastic metallic paint with chrome screen hinges cut. The side walk a fine line between function and form with the ports scattered on the edge ... keeping just above the minimum to keep users happy. Apple cut the finish line with the MacBook Air single USB port and the infamous. Opening the laptop to the simple design and continued with a wide range of brushed metal bezel surrounding the keyboard tray and the rubber pad. If you have not already got what I really like the look of this laptop.
The Dell Latitude Z is built almost as good as it sounds. Some limits are pushed to form thin can be considered a flexible, lightweight chassis when you try to put the laptop in a corner of the support for the palms. The Latitude Z offers a 16-inch screen with a resolution of 1600x900. Compared with thin and light notebook offers more space Z and the screen is much easier on the eyes after a long day of writing. The panel features LED backlighting and higher than average rates compared to other monitors of similar size. I had no problem writing for hours at the keyboard, including writing most of this review in the same Z. For poor visibility Dell includes an LED light for the keyboard that can be set to on, off, automatic or positions. In automatic mode, the lighting is activated when you start typing and turns off after a few seconds to save power.
Z includes a large multi-touch touchpad ALPS enabled. I thought that offers good sensitivity and without significant delay. In the test found his touch to select the option to keep and hold objects, but some software settings helped fix things. The touchpad buttons are large and easy to turn on the edge of the finger. They offered a soft click action average projection distance. In general, the touchpad when combined with the frame of the screen EdgeTouch really use the laptop to be a pleasant experience.
