The number of Apple Authorised Resellers is growing, with around 40 in the London area alone. However these tend to be resellers of single units of iPhones and MacBooks. If you are looking for a low capital expenditure way to use Apple's products for business the choice is more limited. But there are options.
If you are a Mac fan you will have been in heaven these last 12 months with what has been, let's be honest, a very exciting refresh to pretty much the entire Apple line. It all began in October 2008 with the new MacBook family, which brought us a new look Mac Pro, iMac and Mac Mini. This was a bold move by Apple and it has paid off as Mac sales are very good and it has, it would appear, made Apple rethink certain strategies.
Possibly the most exciting factor to come from this is that Apple now recognises the expertise of its resellers, to support their customers, and have started a wind-down on direct business sales. Apple is aware that in their stores you can only buy Apple which, when it comes to what you need, is only a small part of a much bigger equation.
Apple, by utilising its resellers, hope to break into a new section of the market by allowing companies select companies to offer the complete package to the end user. Given the powerful nature and high value of Mac it lends itself perfectly to leasing, which is proving to be very successful, with software leasing also going from strength to strength.
Another interesting and positive step is the availability of Apple Xserve finance for businesses that have a rack server requirement. While many may want the hardware quality that Apple is renowned for, few actually want to release the funds for such an investment. This is where server leasing comes into its own.
